This article basically states that Governor Schwarzenegger is willing to "take billions of dollars from public schools, shut down four dozen state parks and release tens of thousands of prisoners to close a projected $14.5 billion deficit." I feel that the governor is basically trying to take little bits from every department in California. I do agree that that is the method that should be used because it wouldn't have as big of an effect on California, however i feel that he thinks he has to get all of this done right now which is not true. He needs to span these cuts out so that the effects on California are not as great.

  1. This source is most defiantly an authoritative source; it comes for the San Francisco Chronicle. This article slightly favors the views of the families and students but it talks about the benefits of both sides. It goes over all of the positives and negatives. Even though in the article they are disagreeing with what Arnold Schwarzenegger is doing they still state his opinion in the article; they let the audience know that this is his last resort. Schwarzenegger feels really bad, but he feels that we need to be more careful when we spend money. We should only spend the money that we have. The article should go into more detail about the students and their losses. All it says is numbers and values which isn’t enough; what are the students actually losing. The article also goes over how Schwarzenegger will be taking money for the parks in California. Once again though, the author doesn’t state how this will affect the parks, all it states is that money will be taken from them.
